Reviews “I
have been working with writers of one sort or another for
over 30 years. This is the first time I have had the
privilege of reviewing the work of a Master craftsman … *
* * The
range of the work of two well produced volumes and others
are quite extraordinary. "The
limericks linking Prime Ministers are pure satire…” ROLLICKING
RAMBLINGS OF AN IRISHMAN “The
Readers Digest Great Encyclopaedia says to obfuscate is - to
darken, obscure, stupefy, bewilder and this is exactly what
this delightful “piss take” of a book is all about…. "Written in a delightful tongue in cheek manner, I found myself laughing out loud …." “Tony
Kearney has once again let his bizarre Hibernian wit run
riot. This time his literary tribute is to the Ancient and
Royal Society of Obfuscators (ARSO) whose Coat Of Arms
appears on the front cover of his latest book….ARSO is, of
course, a figment of Kearney’s fertile imagination…”
Wayne Crawford in the Sunday Tasmanian “Mr..Kearney
writes with marvellous precision and wit.” Derek Rogers
in the Burnie Advocate A
POTPOURRI OF LIMERICKS “…the
former respected professional administrator and long-time
Registrar of the University of Tasmania has published a
“Report” of a very different kind – full of the
blarney and bullshit (his word) to be expected from an
expatriate Irishman with a quick wit and an eye for the
ridiculous….the lithesome lilt in Kearney’s verses give
a frolicsome kick to the limericks.”
Wayne
Crawford in the Hobart Mercury
A FROLIC
IN FICTION D.A.
(Tony)Kearney …has, in his eighties. gone digital…. He
has released his first e-book …which includes some of his
out-of-left-field Irish wit and which, he suggests, is a
“modest antidote to people in general, and writers in
particular, who take themselves too seriously.” Wayne
Crawford in the Sunday Tasmanian. Of
the story “TOILET ROLLS” By
judges for the Fellowship of Australia Writers, Shoalhaven
Region - “This
piece of writing certainly adheres to the maxim of immediately capturing the reader’s
attention.” “This
is a very clever and funny piece of writing.” “The
choice of language is excellent. The twist at the end
is wonderful.”
Of the story, “OPENING HOURS” By
a judge for the Fellowship of Australian Writers, Hastings
Region - “A
very amusing (and almost believable!) story. The use of
letters to tell the story is very effective.” Of
the story, “The Curious Case of the Courting Curates” by the same judge - “A very enjoyable story. You sustain the appropriate pompous style throughout and the reader is carried along effortlessly.” Author Contact Information Tony
